Louisa Voisine's adolescence was spent in a seaport town in Maine. She received her degree in Fashion Merchandising and Design in Boston. She spent six years in the charter travel business, working and living throughout Europe, South America, the Caribbean and the United States.

In 1982, she moved to Los Angeles to pursue her fashion design career. She created, developed and became the Director of the Film and Television Department for the Gap/Banana Republic Stores. The department became the largest "Studio Services" program in Los Angeles, with clients including all major film and television studios.

Louisa's entertainment industry credits for her Studio Services group read like a guest list at the Academy Awards. She has over 100 movie credits including: The Untouchables, The Accidential Tourist, Fatal Attraction, Baby Boom, Nuts, Roxanne, Salvador, Broadcast News, Three Men and a Baby, Midnight Run, Overboard and many more. Among her 75 television credits are: Murder She Wrote, LA Law, MacGyver, Family Ties, Matlock. These along with over 90 international commercials and fashion interviews in Entertainment Revue Magazine and Los Angeles Magazine show a more than impressive range of fashion talent.

Moving to Las Vegas in 1992, Louisa engaged in interior design for a variety of home and commercial construction firms. She designed interiors for a multitude of private and model homes, hotel suites and casino lobbies in the Las Vegas valley. All during this period she still designed clothing and accessories from her home. She stuck to her philosophy, "You can never have anything wear you. You have to wear the clothing. You're the individual and everything has to go around that."

Louisa started Mickey Lou Designs in 2009. It was created to indulge the discerning customer's fashion sense. Mickey Lou Designs product lines are comprised of limited edition dresses, sweaters, boutique bags and elegant portrait hats along with unique jewelry and accessories.
